Yermo (Spanish for "wilderness") is an unincorporated community in the Mojave Desert in San Bernardino County, California. It is 13 miles (21 km) east of Barstow on Interstate 15, just south of the Calico Mountains. Its population was an estimated 1,750 in 2009. We provide help to nincorporated areas, basic services like street lighting, fire protection and parks are usually provided by the county. The Community Services District Law (Gov. Code 61000-61850) was created to provide an alternate method for such services.
